The IKS project at IIT Delhi is a pioneering initiative focused on applying Bharat's civilizational wisdom to improve life and systems both in India and globally. Rooted in shastric, classical, folk, and regional cultures, it aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, drawing from India's ancient and diverse knowledge traditions.

Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) is an emerging area around the application of Bharat’s Civilizational wisdom for better life and systems domestically and globally.
It refers to the dynamic and inclusive corpus of knowledge, practices and living systems continuing for millenia in Bharat.

Objectives
The main objectives of IKS - IIT Delhi are stated below:
- Conduct fundamental and applied research, including thought frameworks for civilizational concepts and designs, as well as applications in relevant domains to address challenges and leverage opportunities for both the present and future.
- Disseminate this knowledge through summits, conferences, workshops & study circles, courses, exhibitions, content development in multiple modes etc.
- Facilitate mentorship by Gurus, as well as strategic consultations and engagements of appropriate kinds.
- Perform global outreach to enable audiences across the world to benefit from the project’s ideas.
- Become a platform for dialogue, exchange of thoughts, production, publication, and dissemination of ideas.
